The GEMINI+ partners produced a booklet dedicated to nuclear cogeneration through High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactors (HTGRs) for industry and transport. Dedicated to the general public, the stakeholders from the political spheres, from industry and from financial institutions, this document outlines: what is the potential of HTGR technology how can it contribute to achieving the European energy transition why Poland made it
To mark the end of the GEMINI+ project which was launched in September 2017, join the GEMINI+ Final Workshop organised online, on 25 November. This half-day event (8:45 am to 1 pm) will provide a perspective on the contribution that High Temperature Reactors (HTRs) may bring to deep decarbonisation besides focus on a real potential first demonstration project in Poland.
The HTR 2020 is postponed to May-June 2021. More information regarding the deadlines for submission, review notification and full submission will be provided once schedule for HTR2021 is confirmed. ABOUT HTR 2020 When: 6-8 October 2020 (postponed to 2021) Where: Yogyakarta, Indonesia The International Topical Meeting on High Temperature Reactor Technology is the sole international conference focusing on high-temperature gas-cooled reactors
In collaboration with the GEMINI+ project and ALLEGRO project, the PHD4GEN High Tempearture Reactors Summer School took place online from 1-5 June 2020. The School gathered several dozen of students who had the possibility to attend a total of 23 lectures dedicated to HTGR technologies and Generation IV reactors. First of all, a welcome speech was given by Professor Grzegorz Wrochna,
In collaboration with the GEMINI+ project, the PHD4GEN High Tempearture Reactors Summer School will be organised from 1-5 June 2020, in Kazimierz Dolny (Poland). Due to the current situation, the School can be fully attended remotely. The aim of this School is to present the current status of the Generation IV reactors under study of the program “New reactor concepts and
The subject of the high temperature reactor project went to the Polish Parliament forum on the last day of January this year, thanks to the presentation that I had a honour to present at the meeting of the Parliamentary Mining and Energy Team, chaired by the Member of Parliament Mr. Ireneusz Zyska – writes Dr Józef Sobolewski, former director of
The Japanese Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) received the basic agreement from the Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) in Japan toward restart HTTR on 25 March 2020. After the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011, new regulation standard for the test and research reactors was issued by NRA on 18 December 2013. JAEA submitted an application for the permission
